Found the gun on Gunsamerica, 12 days ago, showed up at my FFL yesterday. S&W M&P 40C with with factory Trijidon night sights and lever safety, 3 mags. This is my wife's replacement for her full size M&P 40, which was given to our son in lieu of graduating the VA State Police Academy.

Cool little gun! The gun came however with 2 mags with the extended base plate, one without. With the extended base plate my big hand fits the pistol, without it, my pinky finger hangs in the air! My wife has no problem whatsoever
shooting the gun with the flat base plate. This gun seems to have a better trigger off the shelf than our previous (2006) MP that took about 500 rounds through it before it sweetened
out. Accurate sucker too, just like it's big brother. Very happy with the purchase, I'm told the factory night sights, as well as the lever safety, are rare options on a compact. My wife wanted the lever safety. (probably a good idea as the gun will ride around in her purse) I find the safety very easy and smooth to engage/disengage with my thumb, so I'm cool with it. Great gun!

Great gun and is my primary carry gun.

I can honestly say I have never looked at one with the manual safety so please post pics.

Congrats! I picked up my new M&P .40 Compact yesterday, and since Thursday's are Ladies Free at the Range I had a good excuse to run right up there and put 100 rounds through it last night. It is sweet. Definately has more kick than it's big brother, our M&P .40 FS.

I concur Grandma, more kick than the FS MP40 but not obnoxious, actually it's quite controllable and accurate!

I have the M&P 40c as well, great gun. I have over 2000 roulds through it so far, less than 3 months old. My carry gun as well.
Call smith and wesson and ask them for the finger rest. I called 2 weeks ago and got them the other day, 3 of them free of charge.

Yep, I really want one of those. Anybody want to trade one for a Glock?...The ergo's of the M&P's are much better than the other plastic guns I have handled and shot. You made a good choice and he should enjoy it. When I graduated for the police academy a couple of centuries ago all I got was a lousy pen set.
