Default Help dating a .38 M&P, 4th Change?

I'm posting for a friend who can't get onto the Forum because his email address keeps getting rejected.

He has a .38 M&P, 4th Change that he's trying to date. I have the SCSW, but his gun falls into that 1915 to 1942 period where there's no year-by-year info. Here's what he's got:

SN 5194XX, walnut grips with no medallions, knurled knob instead of plain tip on the ejector rod, and a charcoal blue finish. I could ask about other features, but that's all I know at the moment.

Can anyone help to pin it down a bit more? TIA.

Probably mid 1920s; 1925-26 would be my guess.

I agree - probably early 1926.

Later, Mike Priwer
