Default first revolver model 15 question

hello.
i just purchased my first revolver for $300. I think it was a good price. It was in new condition only shot a few times.
dont know what year, ser#AJH0734 mod.15-4. any help on what year the gun is and if price was right. thanks in advance.

My book shows a start in Jan for serial number AHC 1687, so I'd say 1986 for DOM. That is a very good price these days. They are very nice old guns.

I just picked this 15-3 up the other day for $239.-

Great Gun and a Great Price! Congratulations. The Model-15 is the top of the line in .38SPL in my opinion. The Combat Masterpiece indeed.

Sounds as if you got a great gun at a good price. Model 15's are top notch S&W revolvers...smooth and accurate.
