I have two M41s for competition. I have several of the all-steel follower magazines and one plastic-follower mag, but the base on all of them can be removed to clean the mag. I also have several of new, plastic-follower mags that do not have the removable base.

Does anybody make a removable base M41 mag anymore, and if so, where can you get them?

All of the base plates are removable. Look at one of the old base plates and you can see that the hole is drilled through both layers of the steel. In the new plates the hole only goes through the inside layer. In other words you have a blind hole. You can still pull the spring/plunger away from the base plate by sticking a small screwdriver into the mag.
With the base plate off, some people drill the hole all of the way through to save time at next cleaning.
