Phrases I'd Like to Never Hear/See Again.
On another forum there is a topic referrence phrases people don't like and would like to get rid of. Here are my top 3. Anyone else have some
1- It's a tack driver
2- Built like a tank
3- Lock-up tight as a vault.

Any phrase that one person uses more than twice in any conversation. ie: ya think
A few old ones: that will go over like a pregnant pole vaulter, crooked as a bag of guts, and 24/7/365.

"built like a tank"
Or
"constructed so well that I believe it will hold up greatly under harsh conditions and should maintain structural integrity for years, no matter how much I punish it"
I'll stick with built like a tank
However I don't like when someone begins half their sentences with "so". (I've been guilty of this once or twice)
EX: So this morning I was eating my breakfast and I see a burglar on my porch. So I grab my gun and open the door. So I point my gun at him and yell "freeze!". He sees me and stops in his tracks. So I yell into the house and tell my wife to call the cops..........

24-7 has to be near the top of the list. O-T-C and or any other anagram that assumes you already know what the other person is thinking / talking about.
I will put up with it for a few minutes ( or minuets ir you prefer )

"It's Rare"
That is the most overused word in the lexicon of anyone trying to sell anything.
To me, rare should only apply to 17th and 18th century firearms in 90% condition, or in conjunction with ordering a piece of meat.

This is off thread, but what I really have a hard time with, even moreso than my spelling, is aberiviations. I can only understand about 10% of computer talk useing them. Flying is a big love of mine but everything to do with flying is ALL aberiviations! If I can figguer out the aberviations I can eaisly understand all knowledge on flying, but it really annoys me!

Somebody that says "hey, cuz". If I am not your cousin, I don't want to be referred to that way. As a matter of fact, if I AM your cousin, I don't want to be referred to that way either.

I thought Black Rifle, Assault Rifle, Hi Cap Mags, or clips would have come up by now. Also trigger as smooth as butter But, adding one more, what about the phrase when shopping for a used vehicle. " Owned by a woman driver ". When I met my wife she had her new car 4 years and never knew the oil had to be changed, much less filters or tune-up. I would never buy a car from one.

The (over)use of "like" where it doesn't belong drives me nuts!
Also the acronym "***". I can't stand that.

I also have to wonder about the maturity level of any man over the age of thirty who prefixes everything he says with "dude."

Clips is one that bothers me as well..
unless of course the user is actually talking about a clip (which most of the time, they are not)

"A sweet shooter". Don't intend to get it anywhere near my mouth to taste it, sort of like the old LE expression, " he ate his gun" which you never want to hear.

Couple of my favorites:
The trigger breaks like glass......
and, "cash money", as in - "How you paying for this" at which point they respond with "cash money".

How true, fellow squid-American. I was in my thirties before I discovered what "nationality" meant (on some PI government forms). Couldn't for the life of me figure out how it was different from citizenship.
