I have been looking for a model 66 for a little while. I saw one in a local gun shop the other day.
It is a 66 no dash, 4" barrel, what seem like the original target stocks. It seems in good mechanical condition but it has some pits and scratches in the finish. I have heard and seen people buffing out the scratches, but how about the pits? How deep of a pit can be removed without causing damage to the gun?
The price on the gun is a little high, and I was told it has been sitting in the shop for some time. I figured the pits could give me a little room to work with. But I want to know it the gun can be saved or not.
Any advice would be great, thanks in advance,
Ryan
