i just found a le marked 15rnd .40 mag for my sigma today.it was at my local gunshop hidden away on a rack behind a bunch of sigma 9mm mags.i got it for $20 bucks!!! i kinda wish he had more! i had to try it as soon as i got home.the baseplate is a little thicker but it still works just fine.i have to bump it a little harder than the 14rounders but that is no problem for me.
I have seen them at gun shows, problem is they always want a lot more for them over the 14's. I can usually pick up 14's for 20-25 but 15's are always $40. So you did very good.
Sounds like you found a older 40F sigma mag. They were standard 15 rounds. Just sand the top of the baseplate if you need to, it will fit your 40VE fine. Good find! most Sigma mags are priced higher than other guns.
I ordered one from CDNN a few weeks ago. It was marked 40F and it did fit a bit tight. I removed the baseplate and took it to my belt sander. I remover .060" and it works perfectly now. Oh, I paid $32.00. S/H was $5.99, like this weekend, sometimes it is only $4.99 for any size order. For my $5.99, I had a $136 order shipped. S/H is usually $9.99 throughout the week.
I found one of these in the mountains of N.C. last year at a little gun shop in Franklin. Paid 25 bucks I think. Evidently that extra round makes it a LEO for some reason. I assume the thicker base plate on it matched up with a slightly different handle butt that the LE was using on their Sigmas.
i went back to the same shop and dug around and found 1 more!!! i am going to either sand the baseplates down or just swap them out from my 2-10rounders. so for a mere $50 bucks i walked out with another 15rnd mag for my sigma and 2-9nd mags for my springfield xd sub-compact .40!!! it was a good day.it's about time!!!
