Excellent Memorial Day Movie. "Taking Chance"
We watched the movie Taking Chance last night. I found it browsing through the NetFlix selections. I didn't pick it specifically for Memorial Day, it just looked interesting.
I am not a big Kevin Bacon fan(he's OK) but he did a excellent job. This was a made for HBO movie. My wife and I were very moved by the film and did not know that this Honor was conducted . Very Moving. If you get the movie, be sure to watch all the extra features.
Thanks and Prayers to all who serve or have served.
Taking Chance (2009) (TV)
You will see some other old time names as characters

Yes, excellent film and was mentioned several times in the thread about men becoming emotional at movies.

This has got to be one of the best "Honoring" films I've ever seen. The best part was how all the background people understood and stopped to honor the Fallen as well! Recommend it to anyone!

I started reading that post but after page 3 some of the movies were not real serious. I see now that the movie showed up on page 4.
Yes, Shane and My Dog Skip got me also.
I have a aging Jack Russel and a child, now adult . My Jack sleeps on her bed and I am getting misty thinking about it now.

It's an excellent file and very well done. It's also a difficult film for me to watch. My cousin/little brother served as a Navy Corpsman and was killed during a mortar attack in Ramadi, Iraq. The parallels between his own homecoming and those in the film are haunting.

I watched it last night. I have a very close friend in the Air Force that recommended it to me. I lost count of the times I had to wipe off my face. Great movie, God bless all of our Veterans and thank you. All give some, but some give all.
