A while ago I got a Dillon primer filler. When I first started it was great, but slowly over time it got slower and slower. I cleaned and polished the feed ramp, leveled it, and placed it on a cinder block to give it more stability. However the primers continued to move very slowly.
The other day I was reading the manual to review the changeover from small to large primers. I learned that the screw that holds the primer adapter is supposed to screwed down to contact the adapter and then backed off .040" (the thickness of a dime). I had missed that step the first time I changed from small to large primers. I backed the screw out .040" and boy do those primers fly around now! It fills the tube in about 30 sec. I certainly felt like a dope! I guess those manuals do serve a purpose.
