I thought I would post this here before putting it one of the auction sites, this is a great rifle for someone. This Sako Finnbear Deluxe .30-06, L461R, SN 46,2xx is from the early '60's I believe, the importer was Firearms International, I think they were the first Sako importers. The rifle is close to mint, the bluing is 99%, the only thing that keeps it from being 100% is one tiny mark, maybe 1/8" square, on the top of the barrel, it is so small I doubt it will even show up in a photo. The wood is very nice as well with the exception of one pretty nasty scratch on the left rear of the stock, right in front of the recoil pad.
I believe this rifle is unfired. It belonged to my father-in-law who told me about the rifle on several occasions, he said he never shot the rifle in all the years he owned it. He hunted with an old Remington 725 .270 and said he never had a reason to switch. With the exception of the scratch in the stock, it would be almost impossible to improve on this rifle.
I'm selling this for my mother-in-law so a straight sale is preferred, but I may consider some trades. Based on what I have seen I am pricing this at $850 plus shipping to your FFL, which I think is a pretty fair price for a Deluxe of this vintage in this condition.
I'll get a pic up this afternoon and can send more to interested parties. Please EMAIL,
[email protected] if interested as I don't check the FS forum that often.
