early S&W WALNUT GRIP ?
I found a nice set of walnut checkered s&w grips with brass medalions, they look like j frame grips in size but the tops are rounded off and the checkered stops before the bottom and creates a half moon with no checkering, can anyone help me identify the grips without pictures, they also have diamonds around the screws. thanks for any help, geraldo

The later topbreaks had checkered walnut grips on them. I bet thats what they are. You want to sell them?

They may be stocks for an I frame from the decade of the 1910s, but a photo would be best to be definite.

Is there a number on the back of one panel? It might be pressed in, or it might be written in pencil and therefore almost invisible. You can sometimes read faint pencil numbers by rocking the grip back and forth under strong light; the reflection from the graphite will make the letters more legible.

I have never seen walnut grips for a top-break with medallions. My understanding is that walnut grips became available for the late .38 Safeties. I have two with these grips - here's a quick and dirty pic.
