Can anyone point me to a inexpensive source for an M&P upper? I'm hunting for an upper for my lower receiver and but S&W does not seem to market uppers only like Rock River, Stag, etc. do.

So if S&W won't sell just their uppers, where did you expect to get one?

I don't know about the inexpensive part, but I have seen a rare S&W MP15 upper in a local gunshop in my area few times. A google seach turned up a couple of the following, don't know if your looking for 5.56x45 or 5.45x39:

I haven't personally done business with either place, just throwing them out there to show that the uppers are out there. I didn't find any info on the S&W web site, but you might try contacting S&W direct as well. They might direct you to a dealer who can order you one in your area if they won't let you buy direct from the company.

Buy a copy of Shotgun News. There's one, or two, advertisers there who have them from time to time.
I think they are a bit pricy, but your mileage may vary.
