Loaded Moonclip Carrying Case
Does anyone have any leads on a nifty carrying case that would hold and organize a number of loaded moon clips? Let's say I load up 30 moon clips at home to take to a local IDPA match tonight and I don't want to bother "mooning" or "demooning" at the range. Anyone seen any organizing cases that would make that handier? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.
I don't guess it's nifty but I use an small ammo can. Ugly but it works.
What you shooting that uses moon clips?

I bought some plastic tubes with removable ends from Menards in the hand tool dept that work pretty well The short length ( about 5 inch) will hold 3 loaded or 4 moon clips still loaded with empty cases. I know they come in longer lengths also. I always have 2 in my range bag that gives me 36 rounds loaded.

bamabiker;
A range bag with separate compartments will work quite well. It looks the part, also, if that is important.
Years ago, when I shot PPC, we used cleaning tool trays to manage our gear (not gun cleaning tools, but janitors cleaning trays). They were plastic, easy to keep in order and easy to clean.

I use a plastic box designed for fishing lures obtainable from many sports shops. They come in several internal heights and overall sizes. Pick one that is appropriate for the loaded moonclips you plan to use.

I use Gladware food containers for my range-bag 6x and 8x loaded 'clips. Single layer only for the flimsier 8x 'clips, but the 6x .45 ACP's can be stacked in two layers. I also use surplus metal .223 ammo cans for bulk loaded 'clip storage for my 625JM. I can put five levels of 21 loaded 'clips separated by hardboard separators cut slightly smaller, maybe 1/4"-3/8" shorter on length and width, and with a corner cut off for finger insertion to remove the separators as you get deeper into the can. That's 105 loaded 'clips - 630 rounds - a serious day's fun.

Great ideas, thanks! I just got my first revolver -- a 625JM. Looking forward to a whole new world of fun.

I use the boxes designed for fishing tackle. You can get them anywhere. I use the ones that have 7 slots per row and 4 rows so that when I load up I have enough moons ready for an entire match.
Go to Wallmart and look in the fishing dept. There are a number of boxes that will fit your needs.
