Default .38 hand ejector ID

I have what I think is a .38 hand ejector model 1905 4th change. It is serial number 306447. The markings on the barrel and frame all look good, except there is no S&W logo on the frame. It is nickel plated. Was the logo plated over? I appreciate your help.

You have a gun built in the late 1910 - early 1920 era, during which time the logo was left off by the factory for who knows what reason. I have seen several K frames without one.

If the finish appears original, it probably never had the stamping - no amount of plating could hide it, but if it has been refinished enough polishing could remove it.
