Default Gunsmithing Question

I am wondering about the possibility of milling the top strap of a '20s vintage I frame to accept a current J-frame adjustable rear sight. I have in mind a 4" custom carry gun in .32 S&W for easy packing. Is there enough meat in the top strap to do this, or would it have to be built up to retain sufficient strength?

TIA for any help and advice forthcoming!

Froggie

Disclaimer: This proposed project will be performed (committed?) on an already-trashed condition frame, not one anyone would ever hope to call collectible.

I would say "YES", as the .32 S&W Long is not a very high pressure cartridge.

I like the little .32s also. I've had a couple & they shot very well.
