Default new to me K17-3 6" shooter...

I've been watching GB and local shops for a nice 22lr revolver, of course a S&W. But none have shown up.

About a year ago, one shows up at the shop at the range.

I've been waiting for price to drop ever since, and asked a few times about price, but haven't budged.

This year my daughter finally got her pistol Lic, so motivated a bit more after she's shown to like shooting wheel guns more than autos.

Shot's nice, finish is about 80-90% , some holster wear, seems it was a shoot for some one. No rust.

Finally came down 75 bux, to $525 , as you see it.
Missing the factory grips and rear sight, no box.
But we wanted a shooter, plinker.. and never took the the trigger on the Tauras little wheel guns. I guess spoiled by my 4" 17-5 and 19-2 ...
So finally gave it a home.
I guess they valued the halographic sight in the price, and why they wouldn't move much.

Thumbs up

I'm sure you could find a rear sight here in the classifieds or maybe from Brownells.
I've never understood halo or dot sights on a handgun, how do you carry a gun that can't be holstered?

You've got a good revolver, with a little footwork it can be back to factory specs and as good as new.

Just got back from the range with it.

It gets an A++, Hey it's a S&W, didn't expect any less.

I hear ya, I like good old iron sights, even on rifles.

This was the 1st time for my daughter to shoot a handgun with a red dot, (my 2nd time), my wife shot a rental with a red dot in PA and liked it too.

It's not bad, and in a dark indoor range, on a black targets, it does show well.
Our local indoor range, out at end, 25yds , gets dark.
10 and 7 yds, the lighting is much better.

My daughter loved it with the truglo sight on it. So for now it'll stay on.
It's a tack driver, as it should be....

I guess I'll look for a rear sight (and parts), pick it up while I can, so if I want to put it back I can.

looks good to me! A rear sight should be easy to find, I'd assume Brownell's or Numrich would have them, and I'd bet you could sell that rail and red dot on the trader real easy.

tnx...
just checked both, Brownells only shows a rear sight assy for a 17-4 and newer..
Nothing on Numrich.
Found some others, emailing them.
Posting in the WTB section here....

These 17's are addicting as 1911's... found myself looking at some at Cabela's... I'm already in the dog house with the wife....
