Default Model 638 with 2.5" barrel

I absolutely love my 642 but am intrigued by the longer barreled version of the Model 638 ever since seeing it in the July G&A. The single action option, the pinned front sight that can be switched out, and the accuracy that naturally comes from a longer tube are attractive features.

Anyone carry this gun? Does the additional length cause any conceal-ability problems? How about availability?

Just musing is all.

I saw two (one 637 one 638) in a small gunshop while passing through Philipsburg, PA about 3 weeks ago. If I were a wealthy man I would be the proud owner of one (probably the 638). A 2-1/2 inch barrel on such a revolver seems to be an excellent idea and may help some JHP's expand better than their 1-7/8 barrel counterparts. I too would like to hear from someone with first hand experience with one of these new snubbies.

I'm a big fan of the 638, and my 1-7/8" version goes everywhere with me. I'd love to get my hands on the 2-1/2" version, seems like it would give you just a little bit more while still being small enough to pocket carry.
