Default Georgia State Patrol Revolver? 19-3

Saw a 19-3 purchased by an aquaintance of mine today, was wondering if anyone knew of 19-3's purchased by Ga State patrol, possibly a detective or ranking patrolman? 19-3 ,4 inch Blue, marked on the frame, left side below cylinder G.S.P.! Any thoughts?

that's where S&W stamped the frames on the Model 28 for the Texas "DPS" (Department of Public Safety - Texas Highway Patrol)...they also marked the NYSP (New York State Police) Model 28's there as well...

I own one of the Texas guns and Mr. Jinks has confirmed the agency and stamping...it was sent straight to their headquarters in Austin in 1972...

hope this helps...

Seems that they did use 19's before going to 66's, and then 4506's and then Glocks.
