Went into the local gun shop today and it was Smith and Wesson heaven. A gentleman hade traded in over 25collectable S&W's. Model .19's, a model 27,17 and others. The one that caught my eye and pocket book was a pristine model 12-3, Nickle with a 2" barrel I would easily rate it at 95%+.

They were asking $359 without the box. I dont see model 12's too often and so I decided to place this one on lay-a-way since it seemed like a fair price.

What do you think?

I just lost a GB auction on a blue 12-3 (with box etc) in seemingly unfired condition and it went for $455, so I think you did really well - and the nickel would bring a premium.

That is a reasonble price for a
desireable revolver.

Very easy to forget its on my belt.
But,,, I do not want any handgun with
less weight.

Check for frame cracks under
the forcing cone area.

My practice reloads are a bit BELOW the current
+P receicpes.
When I carry it I use the same load(158 lswc).

At that price I probably wouldn't even haggle.....and I ALWAYS haggle.

I got a circa 1974 blued Model 12 w/ 2" barrel & square butt last November for $405 out the door at my local pawn broker...it easily rates 98%...I was happy w/ the deal...

BTW, you never did mention, round butt or square?

Square butt-it appears unfired. If it has been fired, someone with OCD cleaned it. Thanks for everyone's input.
