Most users/well alot.. here are 15 22 .22 caliber users, as this is a forum specificly for that rifle. Personaly, in my .223 Ive had good luck with Black Hills 68 grn Match grade Blue Box.

Burch,
What is your definition of "group very well"? You may be getting the same results as others.

More precisely, there is a sub-forum for the 15-22 here. This particular forum is for all S&W long guns.

How are you shooting? From the bench? Are you using optics? What range? What ammo have you tried?

Is that from a bench? Standing? I am not trying to be a dick. However, if your not happy with the accuracy I would rule out operator error before concluding it was a rifle or ammo problem. Remember that this is a carbine, not a sniper rifle. Also depending on the size of grape fruit you are talking about that is not a bad group, especially if fired unsupported. I guess we're going to need more specific info to be able to offer any kind of advice. Do you know the specific diameter in inches of the group? Good luck.

I agree with gunfighter.. the more info you give us the better we can help
try a few thing to rule out the gun first..
if your shooting with optics swap them out with something else if the group size stays the same you know its not you optics
if your unsupported use a bench
tell us which barrel you have if its a 1;9 or a 1;7 twist cause a 1;7 wont like light short bullets like the 55 grain and less that are on the market
we are all willing to help but help us help you

Just got back from the range today. MP-15 OR. carbine 3-9 Leupold VX-II.
From a Bench with Front and butt bag. Shooting 55Gr Sierra, and Green tip Ball. Just when I think its dialed in.. It blows out to 3" + groups.
Its not the ammunition. The same size LMT rod gun drops the 55's (my hand loads) into 3/4" and under 2" at 200.
The 1:9 should shoot 55's.
Any others with problems?
