Default Safariland 27-85 IWB Glock-to-VE Mod

Hey folks,

I'm an old flatfoot and Glocks are a fact of life for me- at least as far as issued equipment goes. I bought a G23 about 18 months ago and it's a real decent pistol; but I prefer the VE's longer trigger for chamber-loaded, IWB carry. I'm an old wheegun guy, too. What can I say?

I also bought a Safarilad 27 IWB holster, specifically for packing the G23. I like the holster a lot; it's a comfortable, good quality rig with an excellent J-hook that grabs the belt and hold on. When I bought the Allied Forces .40 however, I couldn't find that holster specifically for a Sigma VE.

so I tried the VE in the 'Glock' Safariland 27; of course it wouldn't fit. That is, until I removed the Tension Adjusting hardware from the holster.

Now, the VE sits down in it flush with the muzzle and it carries the VE more comfortably than it did the G27. Further, the VE's grip sits higher in that holster and by extension, offers a better draw stroke. It conceals the VE as well, if not better, than the G23

I carried the VE in this while out on the town for a couple of hours tonight; it worked perfectly. Thought you all might like to know that.

Thanks for the tip! Thats good to know!
I tried an IWB holster for a G17 at the last Dallas Gun Show, it was a bit snug.
It would work just fine after break in!

Until companies get on the ball with holsters for the Sigma, it looks like we have to make do!

You're welcome. Sometimes it amazes me that you can find different varieties of holsters for Bersa, Hi Point etc.. which are not available for a current S&W staple such as the VE series.

I find the M&P holsters to work well for the Sigma's and SD's.
