Default Suspenders for Comfort

Fellow over on the Colt forum posted what I think a very good idea: Suspenders for comfort when carrying a heavy gun: Perry Suspenders I can see how that would make quite a difference. The guy said he liked to adjust the suspenders so that the weight was distributed 50-50 between the suspenders and his belt.

I have wore perry suspenders for about 20 years. I had a GF that ran a mens big & tall store. She kept me supplied with color coded perrys to match my uniforms. Perrys have plastic holders and wont hurt your upholstery like the metal clips. I wore them to help hold up my gunbelt for years. You want pictures?

I have used suspenders when hunting quite a bit and they do make a BIG difference.

I do know a lot of Secret Service Agents wear suspenders when doing Dignitary Details.

With the thin suit pant belts, the suspenders makd carrying a gun, extra ammo and the radio a lot more comfortable.

I have a pair of military issue suspenders for the wet weather gear that I wear a lot, metal hooks that go under the belt so you don't have to worry about them popping off, nice and comfortable too!

I wear a pair of galluses every day of my life. I always have. Even on duty! I have a set made by Uncle Mike's that blends in nicely with my uniform.

The way I see it, there are two kinds of fatboys out there.

Ones that wear suspenders...and ones that should!

I am also a belt & suspenders wearer. FWIW, Perry suspenders, with the Dickees brand, are available at our local Walmarts for about $10 a pair. The leather piece on the back is stamped "Dickees Perry Suspeners", and they appear to be identical to those sold online by Perry, I have two pairs, one black and one tan.

I sometimes wear a tucked in Tee Shirt - Perry Suspenders for support for my CC and overshirt/cover garment (Magnum PI kinda shirt) over them.
