I tried out my M&P 15/22 yesterday!
I tried out my 15/22 yesterday and had a blast! I was a little worried because it was NOS and an older version when I bought it. The serial number is a DTH so after reading all the posts on here I was a little curious how it would work. Through 250 rounds it was absolutely flawless! I shot the Wal-Mart Federal 550 round bulk pack. I did have one misfire which I blame on the ammo, it had a good firing pin strike but it didn't go off, I put it though the gun again and it did go off the second time.
It has to be one of the most fun rifles I have ever shot! Now it's time to accessorize, I orderd an ADCO Solo holo-sight from Midway last night and can't wait to try it with that mounted.............

Just up the rud a piece
We like to bring the motorhome to Camden Hills a few times a year for quick weekend escapes and we visit Arizona every 2 or 3 years during our mandatory cross country road trips Some great friends in Tuscon and Phoenix, plus sooooo much stuff to see there.
Anyway, back on topic: I've owned dozens of guns over the years and the 15-22 absolutely has the best fun:expense ratio of them all!

i have one w/the same prefix and it has many, many rounds thru it (1000's). been problem free since NIB, and gets shot almost daily.

These things seem to get even better after a few thousand rounds.
I just recently discovered an indoor, rimfire-only range just a 3 minute drive from home (I bought this house a decade ago... how the hell did I not know about this?!?!). Stopped by there last night and went through a Walmart 550 pack of federals and a few hundred rounds of CCI Blazer... not a single misfeed, fte, sneeze, cough, fart, etc.. 850 rounds in, 850 out. (followed by 15 minutes of sweeping up lots of brass) I love my DTX

wow Phil 20k rounds? whew that is incredible
I need to find a "non" range, gravel pit or private land to do some shooting. the range I am a member of allows one shot at a time, one shell in the rifle at a time, no magazines unless they contain one shell then you must take out the mag after each shot and put one shell in for your next shot. I am not complaining, My range follows great safety guidelines and protocols and I have been to some pretty "wild" ranges before that had no safety precautions and some unmanaged "open" public ranges that were pretty much wild west like.
I need to find a place or piece of land where I can go and unload the whole 25 round mag. and then throw in my spares and unload them too!
At one shot at a time it will take me a lifetime to shoot
20thousand rounds

Yikes! I'd rather throw rocks than deal with all that.
I'm a member of the Chattanooga Rifle Club. It's is a paradise for shooters. The range is very safe. In fact, you have to be certified by the Club before you can fire your machine guns.
