By our standards."Bubbaized", by the standards of 50 years ago, sporterized-and as you noted, a fine job. Enjoy.

Maybe I'm splitting hairs but I wouldn't say "bubbaized", this is nicer than anything bubba ever made, he usually just chops the stock, bends the bolt handle, and throws on a scope.
Sporterized is probably accurate, but with the amount of work done I think this would be correctly named a semi-custom.
Whatever you want to call it, it's good work

.280 Rem is a great cartridge for NA and African plains game. I've used 150 Nosler partitions at 2950 to 3050 to take deer, antelope, a dozen elk, impala, wildebeest, waterbuck and a few others.
You can find several great factory offerings as well as handload from 120 gr to 175 gr for big game.

That is *gorgeous*. There is something utterly elegant about the lines of a nice Mannlicher-stocked rifle. I've kept half an eye out for one as an "it'd be neat to have" item, but haven't found one yet. MrsZ has a 10/22 "International", which was a fairly short run of factory-produced Mannlichers. Very nice gun.

No way is that a Bubba gun. That is a very nice job of making a custom hunting rifle from a military action.

Amen! I don't think anybody has to apologize for that gun.

Why wait till you post the price, we can hate you now!
That rifle is too beautiful for one man.
Whoever did that work is a craftsman/artist.
Sweet rifle in a fantastic caliber.
BTW, we don't hate you... no, really....

It was $211 out the door, it came with a tasco scope on it but I let my father-in-law keep that.
