Default Vortex Optics (scopes) anyone know about them?

They have some nice looking products, a great web site and are based in Wisconsin, but how good are they? Are they made here or you know, and just imported??

Made in Japan, quality seems to be very good for all of the ones I have seen so far. Several of the members of the gun club I belong to use them and are very pleased with them. Dollar for dollar they are an excellent value and have top-notch support from the company.

(Eagle Optics in Middleton, right?)

I help a close friend at his small gun shop and he is a Vortex dealer.I sitting there right now and took a look at the 4 or 5 we have in stock. Two of them have "Made in Philippines"and the others say Vortex Optics USA.We have sold several in the last year and had no problems. They appear to be of good quality and the sight picture is crisp and clear. Also the light gathering aspect seems to be very good.
Hope this helps.

Thanks. I called them and they were very helpful. My wife and I used to live right by them outside Madison. Still have family up there.

Yes, the Viper line is Japanese glass, assembled in the Philippines. I really like their web site. Very informative and easy to navigate. I might try out one of their scopes.
