Default S&W 4506 with adjustable sights

If I purchase one of these, can I send it to S&W and have the Novak night sights installed that aren't adjustable?

Nope... you'd be SOL as the cutout in the slide for the factory adjustable sights is huge, no practical way to convert it to anything else.

Are the adjustable sights sturdy compared to other types of adjustable sight pistols which seem to get moved easy?

Yes they are. The two metal ears that protect them do a darn good job, while not interfering with the sight picture or function. I love mine, since I am a handloader and experimenter and like having the ability to adjust the sights for any given load.

Also... if your objective is just to have night sights, I do believe you can replace the rear sight leaf and front sight blade with night sight versions.

Take a look at Trijicon's web sight.
