Default I found one: A Sigma with a truly awful trigger!

I own a Sigma. My trigger is rather good. Relatively short throw, and a clean 10 lb. (or maybe less) let off. For me that is good.

I compared that to a Sigma in a another gun shop and that trigger was pretty good too.

But today...in a third shop: Yikes! That awful hard pull. That spongy feel. That long wait till the sear finally broke close to the back of the trigger guard.

Freaking terrible!

I can now understand what people are talking about when they mention the bad trigger can some Sigmas can have.

Now my question is...what would a Sigma owner do, if he had the misfortune of owning a Sigma with that awful trigger. (that is, fix it instead of trade it in...)

If it was used it probably needs a good cleaning. I was greatly surprised when I took the sear assembly out of mine and gave it and the gun a good cleaning. Trigger was a lot smoother and much less gritty. Now I had cleaned the gun quite a few times prior to this but had never taken the sear assembly out. It must have had stuff stuck to the factory shipping grease. Once I got it blasted out it was quite a difference.

All the Best,
D. White

mgo,,, but of course you fix it!!! It just takes basic understanding of mechanical principles. Action and reaction. Firearms are not some sort of super secret dark art. One does not have to have years of wasting money in college to understand bench 101. If you choose to go advanced by many peoples terms then you will need a solid understanding of metals and machine tool. Thats really no biggy if you have the knack for it. The math is a tad scary even to me. But the keep it simple stupid works wonders! KISS to the rescue. Now time to screw around with these issues is another thing. Esp. if your teaching your self or working with a mentor.

Take my M&P .45. When I did my trigger work I worked it to a area I like with the ability to bump fire it, if I choose. You may not like that. But I do!!! But you have to do it a certin way or you can't bump it off and empty a mag with a burp. With that said I have oem parts to put in the pistol if I ever sell it. It won't leave me in that condition.

While S&W's warranty is great!!! And I mean fantastic over all. I don't need there help for the most part. So I wish I could purchase new Smith's with the option of opting out of the warranty and getting the firearms cheaper. I would take a 1 to 3 year warranty for less money and walk away very happy indeed. But that wont work because of the idiot lawyers and this way of you pay for mine and I pay for yours the country is getting ate up with.

Just fix it!!! A idiot college boy designed it. A idiot college boy cheapened up production. And as a whole the idiot college boys have all but beat work ethic out of skilled and unskilled labor,,, and craft! We have less and less craftsmen and more and more suck up's.

Thought based on what?
I said he fixes them, not that he takes guns in good condition for free trigger jobs.

I got my sw9ve back from LSG recently and to say the least, it didn't feel much better than when i sent it in. the work order stated that they had "adjusted the trigger bar". i'm not sure exactly what that means. can anybody here elaborate? all i wanted was to have the sear plate polished to get rid of the gritty feel...

Repair Done: adjusted the trigger bar

Seriously The Trigger Transfer Bar has more play than Grannies Bloomers and other than checking for an critical rub there is No Adjustment.

Today I hit the 500 Round mark for my SW9VE. Trigger feels good, and my Sigma performed well. Accurate and reliable.

Today I dry fired a Walther 9mm. I couldn't believe how light the trigger was. Kinda of scary if you ask me. Guess I'm used to my Sigma 9mm.
