Default TSW rail removal

I've been thinking about getting the rail removed off of my pistol.

The only option that I have seen for covering the holes in the frame
has been the rivets that S&W puts on which I am not fond of.

Has anyone seen anything different to fill in the holes? Can the holes
be filled in with metal?

Thanks

I had one gun's rail removed, holed drilled and tapped, and filled with threaded plugs taken down flush with the dust cover (nuts inside). Really more trouble than it was worth, not sure it looked that much better. Just and option.

Folks have used JB weld and rifle bedding epoxy. The big fear is that if it comes loose it will jam the recoil spring.
