Default DA .44 Values ?

A friend has offered to sell me these two First Model .44 DA's but neither one of us has any idea of current values. I was hoping someone would care to venture an opinion.

The top one is a Frontier, .44-40, 1 9/16" cylinder Ser#79XX, the bottom is .44 Russian, 1 7/16" cylinder Ser #287XX. Both have matching numbers, bright bores, are mechanically excellent, and about 80% bright original blue with lots of case coloring on the hammers and triggers. In person they look better than the photos.

Thanks

Larry

They look to have a lot of original blue finish on them - rare on these. A lot of original nickel is fairly common but blue in good condition is scarce. In auctions you might see listing prices of $1500 each and could bring that or more - or less. I have a number of them, mostly nickel, only one nice one in blue. I would offer up to 1000 apiece, assuming proper function and hopefully good bores.

One in very similar condition recently sold on Gunbroker for just over $1,500. I think $1,000 would be one hell of a deal. I'd buy them both in a heartbeat for $1,000 each.

Thanks for the help. That's more than either of us thought. I was guessing more in the $500 range. I will probably buy one and post the other here. Thanks again

If you buy them and decide not to keep both, I would be interested in one.
If you pass altogether, I would like a chance.
Thanks

Those are both excellent guns. Worth $1000-$1500 a piece all day long.
