Default the infamous INTERNAL LOCK

Has anyone actually had personal experience with a gun with the IL failing to fire or locking up on it's own? Just curious.

Yes, a Model 329 that was handed me for a "test drive" with full power .44 Magnum loads partially locked impeding the trigger function.

Local gun shop has had a couple of complaints. One is enough for me so I am not buying.

I have had a problem after dropping the gun: it should be in the sticky.

The North Texas Rep for S&W told me at the Gander Mountain Store in Amarillo, Texas that S&W has never had a complaint of an Internal Lock failing in any way. I told him to get away from me as I never talk to known liars.

I took the lock off of my 686. I don't see how it's possible to have a failure. I think it's more likely user error. Possibly fiddled with the lock and didn't unlock it all the way.
