Howdy. Did a detailed test of new ammo and my 1066 with "real hot ammo". Shot into a 21.5 inch tupperware full of water with a 2 by 4 in front of the tupperware. Hornady xtp 180gr at 1350 passed completely through!!! Not recovered. 175gr silvertips @1375 bounced off back wall of tupperware. Recovered diameter was 5/8. Recoil was pathetic compared to what I expected but substantially louder then weak 10mm and also hand numbing just a tad with factory grip. Also I shot real close not to miss and the pressure wave was substantial!!! I could feel on my face and body. Other then that another gentlemen mentioned reasons for malfunctions as mags on this forum and my mag with the longer spring at the follower caused an attempted 90 degree feeding on the last round. Its going in the trash. Other malfunction was a factory hornady xtp 40 power round. (Not swampfox) failed to eject due to not enough force to cycle slide fully. Do you guys think this is normal and I should just use hot ammo for sd? Thanks. Anyways mike at swampfox is pretty cool. He talks to you personally and from what I can see so far his ammo rocks!
