Question Is Connecticut Properly Policing Gun Owners?

Or is the state violating their constitutional rights?

unfoutunately, many cops do not know the law or if the read it at all, they do not read the commas, the or.....the and....etc......or they just dont understand what they read. I saw this tons of times when I was on active duty....I even had to do a training video explaining what refusal to sign OR accept a Traffic summons meant... We kept getting sued because cops would arrest someone for REFUSING TO SIGN....That was not what the law said.....I wont go into details but there was an OR attached to the law......

But this is why I personally do not favor open carry...the sight of guns seems to bother some and I dont want those bothered to attempt to get their State Reps in the interest of public safety to ban guns.....I also get annoyed with cops who wear civies, have their badge on their pants belt and open carry...I cant understand why they just dont wear a uniform....but unfortuntely too many cops think that if they would not do something then its has to be illegal or it has to be illogical.....so I plead guilty to the illogical statement.

Lots of things bother lots of people, from open carry to interracial relationships. These fall comfortably under the doctrine of "Get over it. If you don't like it, look the other way."

When I was in the DePaul University Law School cafeteria one day, a couple of quite unattractive young men chose to engage in an ostentatious display of open mouth kissing by the elevators. I didn't call the cops, beat them up or demand that the city, county or state pass anti-sodomy laws. I just returned my attention to what I was doing. If they were looking for an audience or a confrontation, they didn't find it in me.

A few years ago, I got hassled by an elderly cleaner in a Lakewood, Ohio McDonalds. I wasn't open carrying. I was wearing an NRA ballcap. Some have actually said I shouldn't have been wearing that NRA ballcap.

The person who doesn't want you open carrying, in all likelihood doesn't want you CARRYING, period. Indulging passive aggressive bullies and malignant narcissists rarely has favorable consequences.
