Default free float rail?

So will this rail work with the barrel adapter sold on here?

Any AR-15 floating hand guard should work with the adapter nut, but man - a $315 hand guard for a $400 gun? I was thinking more along the lines of something like this for mine:

Yankee Hill Machine Free Float Tube Handguard Smooth/Quad Rail AR-15 Aluminum Matte - MidwayUSA

Only $140 (the "rifle-length" one is the one you want) from Midway, and you can probably find it cheaper if you shop around.

just take the stock S&W handguard end cap off and make sure your standard barrel nut is correctly torqued and you have the same free-float quad rail for nothing...

But where would the fun customization be in that. The aluminum will flex a lot less than the polymer of the factory handguard.

Word up.

Again, word up. This could be especially problematic if your using iron sights attached to the handguard (not so much if you're using optics).

There is no such thing is a true free float on these guns but tacticools adaptor gets you as close as you can possibly get... and a lot more ridgitity.. removing the end cap will do little or nothing cause you still have a piece of plastic sandwitched inbetween the nut and reciever.. if your looking to upgrade handguards or looking to get all you can get out of this gun in accu. You definately need an upgrade the aluminum is a lot ridgid and temps don't affect it as much.. hope this helps
