Default M4-Style Handguard on 15-22

I'm thinking about putting a regular M4 Handguard with barrel mounted front sight on a 15-22 like this one

was wonder if this was possible and what would be required to do it

You would need an A2 front sight post something adjustable like the JP A2 Sight Post, you are going to need the front steel end cap for the hand guard, you are going to need a barrel nut thread adapter from Tacticool22.com and you are going to need an AR15 Delta Ring and the M4 hand guards. You will probably also need some shim stock because I don't think the JP sight post will tighten down on the barrel without being shimmed.

It can be done.... No one has done it yet, I've certainly considered it!

thanks for the info, I'm definately gonna research it more. I guess I'm of the minority that likes regular handguards more than quadrails. this is my first AR-style platform firearm so alot of it is very new to me.

Save your money!

This is a plinker. Very nice plinker and an excellent trainer for your M4 Carbine.

Get a "real" M4 when you can. All the skills will transfer if you don't gimmick up either of them.

Take a good three day carbine course.

the handguard I'm looking at is $15 as long as the combined cost isn't too high I don't have a problem spending it. I'm asking and researching to determine if the benefit outweighs the cost in my eyes. plenty of guys here have pricey rail covers, optics, stocks, flip-up sights, grips, etc. if it's reasonable why not.

Don't mind Chuck he doesn't understand why we bolt things onto our plinkers.

I wanted to put the MOE hand guard on my 22 but realized how much a pain it would be to do so and said screw it lol. It would be easier to make my AR look like the 15-22 than the other way around

well as far as quality you aren't getting much for $15, probably some chinese junk. the stock one is going to be alot more rugged and better quality, and alot more useful too.

nice pictures definately like the look of a non-quad rail forearm.

as far as quality I guess it's one of those I'll have to buy it and find out, plus with my c&r discount should be even less which isn't alot of money to atleast try something
