Whisper
I lost my best friend today. I had to put my 13 year old Lab down. Whisper had a variety of ailments, the worst was diabetes. She has required two injections a day for the last 18 months. My wife called me last night asking me to come home from hunting early because our little dog was failing . We took her to the vet this morning and her blood sugar was 500, her kidneys were shutting down, she was acting disoriented and confused and to top it off her right hip kept slipping out from under her. The diabetes finally beat her, she could never regain her health or strength so I held her until I felt her slip away. In all the time we owned Whisper I never remember having discipline her, she always obeyed commands, never destoyed anything and seldom ever barked. Whisper would rather lay at your feet than rough-house, she was just laid back and happy to be with you. I someday hope to see her again at the "Rainbow Bridge". I am just heartsick.......

No matter how many times I hear of a friend losing a pet, it breaks my heart.
You gave Whisper the last great token of love you can give a pet. Let them go when the right time arrives.
I've been there many times, and always hurts.
I am like you. When I get to the Rainbow Bridge, I hope to be trampled in the stampede.
Give it some time and remember there is another dog out there that will be more than happy to assume the duties of taking care of you.

I’m sorry for your loss, but you gave her a good life. We had to put our lab Katie down August 13th after 14-½ great years together.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Our Golden tricked us yesterday and got to eat breakfast twice. My wife fed her before she left and when I got home from the gym, she "told" me she had not ate yet.

I won't say I know how you feel, 'cause I don't, but I still feel the loss of all my companions.........sorry, had to take time out for a
paper towel. Remember the good rimes, and look forward to seeing
her again someday. TACC1
