Default Shot the ICORE postal match today...

Got an email Tuesday saying that the guys at Ontelaunee were setting up the Postal Match. Short notice, but I had enough ammo loaded and wrangled a hall pass from SWMBO, so my regular partner and I took the drive. I shot well for me, which is to say solidly middle of the pack. No real disasters. One miss on the day, pulled one 1/4 inch onto the hard cover from 15 meters on the "Four Strings" stage. My partner shot a good match also. Just on the "your stage, my stage" system we are tied. We'll have to see the results posted to know for sure. Anyway, it'll be good to have a "world ranking" again.

Has anyone else shot the PM this year?

We shot it at our ICORE match here in Oklahoma City. It was fun. The scores are posted in the ICORE web page.

None of the shooters from Ontelaunee are in the results. Not sure what happened. I don't even know my times so I can compare and contrast.

I'm of the opinion that ICORE is the most fun of any pistol/revolver shooting out there. I'm not concerned with winning but having fun. I shoot a stock M-64, from an old Hoyt Break holster and standard speed loaders. It shoots well but I can't competer with moon clip loaded guns but I have as much, if not more fun.

As a side note, I carry a 642 in my pocket. The range officer(s) let my pay to shoot an second gun (3 bucks, no big deal). As a second gun I shoot the 642, drawing from my pocket and loading with loose rounds in my other pocket. I don't get real good scores but I'm sure learning to shoot my carry "pocket" revolver.
