So I'm wondering if they hold there zero I know that over time all sights will lose zero after so many shots but if I can get a clone for 80 compared to 400 so some help with this would be awesome. Pictures would be even better thanks guys

This post is about 6 threads below yours and sounds like it's doing well. Finally sighted in my G&P Eotech 552 clone.

I my self have a trijicon clone and a primary arms multi red dot for my 15-22.

Yep, thats my thread on my G&P brand Eotech 552 clone. There are MANY various clones, and I can only speak for the model that I personaly own, If what Im reading is true then the G&P clone was "TOO" close, and they were actually sued by Eotech themslves.( lawsuit pending) My Eotech 552(G&P version) has been fired for 2 more bulk packs of Federal since that last post, one pack was a 375 bulk pack, the other was a 550 bulk.

Add that to "around" 400 and some odd rounds I ran through it when/after I sighted it in originally, and you get 400+375+550 for a total of 1325 rounds in the past 3 days and it has held a PERFECT zero so far. Im shooting at distances between 60-125 yards and its the same now, as when I first sighted it in a few days ago. BUT I am not sure if all clones are this way but my version has the markings( up/down- left/right) are reversed as in up/down is left or right. If you want pics of the sight, then here are a few of my rifle( old pictures, but the only differnces is I have replaced the iron sights for Magpul flip up MBUS)

At the 60 yard groupings photo.

I had one of the XPS 3 clones briefly. It was terrible. The built in lock / throw lever would not allow it to mount flat. It would always sit crooked. The reticle was useless outside. I could barely see it at full intensity and then there was the ghosting with three distinct aiming reticle circles. Would probably give you a headache if you could actually use it.

I have noticed very few reviews or photos show these clones outside or against a bright background. hmmm? Does anyone have a good in focus pic of the reticle that is actually usable outdoors (shows it outside) on the one you have? I have a red/green 4 reticle TruGlo that looks like the old Cmore. (sorry don't have the model number handy but there are dozens of companies selling this same basic sight) Anyway, this only has 5 levels of brightness and is an LED also but works great on my Ruger 10-22 in bright sunlight. I assumed the Eotech clone I had would be the same or similar internals but it wasn't. It had the 20 level brightness adjustment but just couldn't get bright enough for outdoor use.

There seems to be extreme differences to these clones where one is very usable to where another is not. So, for using one of these Eotech clones outdoors where or how does one identify which is which? Where exactly do you find them?

EDIT: SEE pics below

I wil post pics in broad daylight tomorrow of my G&P Eotech 552 clone. I use it EXCLUSIVELY outdoors on a massive range( Knob Creek gun range, the place that hosts the machine gun shots that are all over youtube). I have no ghosting, and it works flawlessly in daytime with direct sunlight on the range. On its brightest setting, shooting outdoors, I cant see my front sight post, so I turn it down about 4 or 5 notches. This works perfectly, and is very usable. Even turned down to under less than half way of its max, its still very usable in broad daytime firing sessions.

Judge for yourself. This is with EVERY light in my house on in the immediate area, Im talking lamps, overhead, hallway, laundry room, etc etc. ALSO the brightness of the reticle is turned down to about 80% in these pictures( my personal prefernce for shooting) The different positions of the reticles is due to my changing postions of the camera, when I moved to switch from red to green in color. Forgive the reflection of my wife's pink camera. lol Its the only one the had a battery that WASNT dead lol. This reticle is just as bright and clear in broad daylight. As you notice there is very little to no ghosting at all as well. I wil post pics of it in daylight tomorrow. Its pretty much that way day or night.

The big draw for me to the EOTech sights is the 1 MOA center dot. Shooting with my Primary Arms M3 with 4 MOA dot it feels big and clumsy trying to pick up the bullseye or small targets at 50 yards.

The EOTech clones do seem to be more hit or miss however. Some of them work well, some break after a short time, and a lot seem to have issues. Looks like they are getting better, like the ACOG clones that are getting clearer and better eye relief and durability.

ah... that sucks...
I just ordered one based on just that nice pink glow...

But I've ordered 2, 1 for me and 1 for a friend.
Thanks for the pics.

and durability.
Use the top edge of the dot for a center or 6oclock sight picture.

I have the one from RRages.com and it seems nice. Its a heavy little sucker though. havent gotten a chance to sight it in yet, but with how stout and tight everything is, I suspect it will be ok.

I have bought from George(rrages.com) many times, as he is in the same city I am.( well was in.. before I moved a hour away lol) Although my Eotech clone is not from him, I must say the 552 clone holds up very well indeed. I have an actual Etoech on one of my .223 rifles, and while its not exactly the same its "very close indeed".

Ive heard horror stories of clones breaking a week after, and then some have lasted for years. It all depends on the quality of the build. Thats why I always say IF you can find a G&P Eotech clone get it! I personaly know of 4 people( counting myself) and the other 3 people have had there G&P clone for well over a year-year and a half with no loose of zero or breaking of any sorts.

I have had mine since around mid august "give or take". And it seems to be following that same path. The rifle has been bumped, and dropped to the ground with me during "run and gun" courses, gotten mud splashed ALL over it from the "hitting the ground" part of the course, etc. etc. So far its held up very well.

Hey man before I buy this I just had one more question for you. Have you tested whether or not the reticle moves off target if you move where your eye is (paralax). Good test is just prop your rifle up with the reticle on a small object and stand beind the rifle and move your head around beind the buttstock and see if the dot stays on taget or moves around too. Thanks alot man. If it moves a little bit I'll still get one but if it moves alot I dunno.

The best way I can say it is this, it does move,some.. but not all over the place when you move around behind the stock. It moves a medium(if that) amount left to right up and down if you move you head in a direction at extreme angles.( past the edge of the sight itself) It is not a "true" holo sight as it has the actual reticle inside( you can see it, at the bottom inside if you look) and it reflects off some form of surface in the back to get the image to the middle of the sight window.

I compared this to my actual Eotech, and it is not as steady as the "real" one is,( obviously) but still for a 80 dollar knock off Im happy with it. I cant speak for all knock off's as there are MANY versions out there. The one I personally own feels more "real"( than others I have seen) and doesnt have the soft touch buttons, but stiffer like the real thing has. But on the same topic, Ive seen clones that look great, even are marked as eotech, and have sight travel like crazy when checking paralax and break in 6 months. It all depends on the overall build of the clone. As weird as it sounds, some clones are VERY good in quality, where as others are ****. Its hit or miss and pure luck, untill repeatedly tried in the field. I think I got lucky finding the one I have. The pictures I posted above of the sight itself are a good example as far as sight movement goes, as each pic was taken at a different angle and height. No I admit that my sight goes "slightly" further than the travel in the pics, BUT you have to have your head and eyesight going off the edges of the sight itself. But as I said, each clone and its maker are different. Good luck. Dont let me be the one to "talk you into" buying one. This is just my personal experiences with my 552 clone.

how does your sight work with the factory irons. Just looking for something that gives me the option to co-witness with the stock sights.

Cool, thanks for taking the time to give me such a comprehensive answer! I'm pretty good at getting a consistant cheek weld so a little bit of drift won't amount to much if anything out to 100 yards. I'm gonna try one out, worst case if its not for me is it goes on eBay for just as much as I bought it for haha! I just really wont something with a 1MOA dot and Eotechs are just cool.
