Default Anybody else get this "free" NRA Personal Defense DVD?

What do you think? Pretty much lost me with "Dynamic Critical Incident" and other such terms. Might be good for professional LEO or Military folks. I'm all in favor of learning defense but do not think it can be obtained by watching a DVD. Gives you some stuff to be aware of though. Instructor seems to know his stuff, but beyond me the average homeowner.

The NRA DVD of the month club.

Is that one of the ones where they send you the bill if you don't send it back?

I don't know the law in all states, but in Oklahoma, if they send you something unsolicited, then bill you for it, you don't owe them a thing. You have no responsibility to return it to them either.

That's a federal law. Anything sent to you that you did not order can be considered a gift.

That may be true.

But anyone worth a **** will either send it back in the prepaid packaging or pay for it.

True, videos aren't perfect, but they do help.

If it is not something I'm expecting, or isn't from someone personal, or a jury summons- it goes in the trash as junk mail, and I make certain they company knows never to send me such again.

They give you the option of keeping it, giving it to someone else or returning it in the prepaid envelope. Only the DVD is to be sent back, not the nice plastic holder it came in and probably cost more than the DVD.

"Also free just for viewing today's selection is a NRA commemorative coin with the M1903 Springfield rifle. You will receive a free coin and presentation case with each DVD ordered!"

It cost them a bundle to send these things out.

thats one of the things i dont understand, why send this stuff out if it costs them so much to do it? Is it more of a one touchdown is worth 100 losses type of thing? Do they make enough with each sell to make up for everyone that doesnt pay or what?

Contact them at [email protected] and request your name be put on the DO NOT PROMOTE list. This will greatly reduce the amount of unsolicited material that you receive.

But you must remember, that if you put a stamp on the pre-paid return envelope, you will save them even more money!?
Peace,
