Default Need some advice

Well folks the old extractor issue bit me hard the last time at the range. Everything was going fine and kablam. Extractor is gone in the woods somewhere.
serial # dth7737

Here's my question. Just got off the phone with s&w warranty folks and of course thay want the whole gun. Do I need to take off all the extras before I send it back. I have a Magpul Stock and grip. RRA trigger and Magpul rail covers. I know alot of you have already done this drill so Any advice is appreciated

When I sent mine in (MOE), it went with everything that S&W sold it with, and nothing else. I wasn't about to risk them losing the rail covers, RDS, riser, etc.

I had to return mine earlier this month. I removed the optic and mount and did not reinstall the iron sights. I had no other mods installed. Took 14 days turn around time once I got the FedEx send me back label.

Why don't you just send in the bolt or the bolt carrier group?

I believe that S&W has always specifed that the whole rifle be sent back. Besides, isn't this an extractor problem? If it is, they would need the whole rifle to replace it.

I just had a thought. I'll PM you.

The extractor is installed on the bolt.
The ejector is attached to the barrel.
