Default Who likes Hogue Bantams?

I got a set of Hogue Bantams for a K-frame round butt, used for $10......I put them on my 4" 64-7 and they look and feel great! I like the standard Magna round butt grips, and I like my revolvers to have the backstrap and butt uncovered by the grip. The Bantams also solve the problem of the pinky having nowhere to go, and also look great. Also look great on a stainless gun. Wish Hogue would make them with the S&W logo, but can't have it all I guess I just don't like big, spongy rubber grips on my guns, and can't stand the Uncle Mikes, they feel like a piece of ATV tire stuck on my revolvers

My future buys, a 619 and a 64-8 will probably wear these too!

Yes...No doubt they will give you greater control...

Shooting? absolutely..Collecting? not so much...and don't get rid of the factory grips if you still have them...JMHO

Not worried about the factory grips, since Uncle Mike's round to square conversions don't add much as far as "originality" to the gun. IMO when S&W stopped hand fitting wood grips at the factory, I stopped worrying about keeping original grips

These are stock grips on the 3" 686+, I do like the fact that the Hogue standard grips that S&W uses on adjustable sight revolvers have the S&W logo stamped in them, I hope at some point they do that with all the Hogues.

Had a set on a model 13, but broke the skeleton inside when taking them off to try out a set of Ahrends. I liked the Bantams plenty.

The lack of a screw is kinda wierd, but they don't look like they are going anywhere. I don't plan to be taking these off and on constantly. I'm the kinda guy these days where if the revolver is working fine I don't fool with the grips or worry about taking sideplates off. Apparently there's supposed to be some kind of spreader tool, but mine didn't include it since they are used. I had no trouble getting them on and off one time just using my hands. I was afraid of spreading them too much and cracking the plastic inside. I almost wish there was more tension, but the grip pin should keep them tight on there.

Use a couple of old credit cards, library cards, casino cards, etc. The skeleton will crack fairly easy, especially up on the horns.

Hogue does make, or at least did make K-frame bantams with the S&W logo. Used to be able to buy them through S&W and they were shipped on some revolvers, I believe the Scandium frame guns.

I have them on my 64-2, 2-inch and really like them. They are somewhat smaller than other grips and provide a good gripping surface for shooting hotter +P loads. I have Uncle Mikes Combats on my 65-5, 3-inch, but will probably try the Hogues on it too.

I like them on my Snubby Combat Magnums.

I prefer the full size grips on my 3" and 4" guns. Regards 18DAI.

I like Bantams on my K&L frame carry guns. I had several J frame Bantams however I replaced them with Crimson Trace laser sights for a more secure grip (and rapid target acquisition) when shooting hot loads.

I love them on my Model 38, nickel. If my 19 was a round butt they'd be on there too.

I like them alot. They do have a spreader tool that comes with them when bought new. I have a pair on my model 19, 2.5 inch gun and they fit and feel great.

By the way, I bought mine this past summer from the S&W factory store and they did have the S&W trademark on them. They were a little higher than what I could have bought them for from my local dealer but I wanted a set with the trademark on them.

I've got them on my 642-1. They not only feel better than Uncle Mike's that it came with, I believe they are actually lighter as well. I like the finger grooves, and may try a set in wood someday too.

I love them. I've got them on my 3" 65 and 3" 686+. They just feel so comfortable and my the revolver point more naturally. The only grips that feel better are my Nills.

I used them on a 2" model 10-5 had to blend in the middle finger grove . The ridge for the finger grove did not line up with my index. Fits very well now though. I like the exposed backstrap

Almost all of my round butt k/L frames have em. Really wish they made the same style (extended in front for last finger) for RB N-frames.

Great replies!

I wonder if the S&W store still sells them with the S&W logo, I would buy another couple sets for future purchases!

Just checked, the Bantams listed on S&W's site have the standard Hogue logo, I would think they would advertise the fact they have the logo...
