Default M41 COMPLETE disassembly & reassembly

I purchased a M41 beater and want to make it an inexpensive, but great field gun . It has light to moderate surface pitting. I can save some money by dis/reassembly myself prior to refinishing. Would someone be able to guide me especially reassembly. I found the article on guntalk online but need the frame components reassembly help. Thanks. John

Never mind. Too late. It's apart. Damn, it has Twelve springs. Glad I took disassembly notes. If anyone ever needs them P.M. me.

I hope your notes are very good. I did that once... ended up with all those little parts in a box, begging the local gunsmith for help!

Wish you best of luck....

Default Magazine safety

You might consider deactivation of the magazine safety. Its a common change to allow one to shoot out a live round that the extractor won't remove. This way you won't need to reinsert a empty magazine to shoot the chambered round.
Mine was removed to allow the above and to facilitate clearing the weapon during Steel Challenge matches.

Go to the Numrich gun parts site. They have exploded parts diagrams for almost every gun. Might help.

Also check your PMs I sent a link. Might be the one you already found though.

PM me and I can sent a pdf of the manual.

Thanks guys. I started with the Numrich full schematic and the Guntalk online maintainance guide. They started me off well.
I like the idea of grinding down the small piece of magazine disconnector to disable it. That will be much handier.

Default Don't grind mag safety

There is a way to simple reverse the coil spring that works the part.
Another shooter told me this trick.
On my M41 i took the lever and spring off but then the trigger bar would fail to engage all the time. So i removed the spring.
