Call of Duty Black Ops
after a family discussion about this topic (below) i surfed the web looking for answers to the F word usage in Black ops and found this:
Call of Duty: Black Ops Mature Content FIlter?
My mom bought me Black Ops for my birthday but then seriously considered returning it when she saw the "Strong Language" "Intense Violence" and "Blood and Gore".
Black Ops has a content filter, right? What does it filter out? Please be specific!
thanks
Okay, everybody keeps saying that it blocks out blood & gore.
But what about bad language? That's actually more important to my mom.
Answer:
People get stabbed in the head and say F$*% S*^& B#@&* and other words a lot. Online will only get worse, take it back. But then again it is funny to hear some kid's mom yelling at him in the background when she hears what is being said while you get owned online like all of the other chirstmas nubs who will get dominated this month when their moms buy it for them too.

Lots of parents aren't really good at their most important job.

Agreed. Lots of parents seem to buy video games to occupy their kids so that they won't have to parent...

I got the game for Christmas along with a WII. Put the game in and started it up. Son, granddaughter, daughter, and my wife were present. When the first "F" word was uttered, I shut off the game, put it back in its holder, and it will go in the trash. Can't they make games without all the profanity and other BS in them?

Don't throw it away, send it to me, I'll forward it on to my son in Afghanistan. I'm sure the guys over there would enjoy it and the spicy language won't bother them, they already talk like that.

If I had a kid today...I'd buy him a Victrola, toy trucks and electric trains.
No video games until he's 18. Even then, he'd have to buy them with his own cash.
Glad I don't have a kid today. I'd be locked up for being cruel, and letting them play with guns.

You can go to settings and turn off the language and gore.

Umm, so the stabbing people in the head part is presumably fine but using the "f" word whilst doing it suddenly makes it bad for kids? Ponders...
