44 Shoulder Stock Box ID
I ran across a S&W green box, plain except for the end label which was labeled for a 44 extension stock.
Would this have been for an American, or a #3 New Model? Tried to search for a picture of one but haven't had any luck so far.
It's in nice shape, and would be interested in a value also.
Thanks,
H C Cook

Don't know if this helps you or not, but here's one that Mr. Flayderman has. He states it's for a
"New Model No. 3 Single Action."

The one I had, was for the New Model #3 Single Action.
Had obtained it direct from Mr. Harold Austin at the factory when I was the gunsmith for Rex Firearms.

Thanks for the replies. It is very similar to the top one, it appeared to be slightly smaller, but that is probably what it was for.
Don't know what an American stock box would look like.
