Default I am NOT going to the gun show Saturday

There is an Eastman gun show in Columbus, GA tomorrow. I had planned to go and take a Model 14-4 I am trying to sell locally. I have it advertised on a couple of GA trade forums.

I just looked at the Weather Underground forecast for tomorrow: 65 degrees and sunny. I ain't going. I would burn up $15-$20 in gas, pay $8 to get in, spend $6 at the Krystal for lunch, and probably wind up trading the revolver for something and paying boot.

I have too many projects going at the farm that need attention; still building fence-working on old building restoration-working on my new shooting range-last but not least, burning up some ammo. The only New Year resolution I made was to shoot more, and so far, despite the weather, I have managed to get out about twice a week and shoot 100 rounds or so. I am not going to spend a 65* January Saturday inside at a gun show.

They will just have to have their gun show without me.

Picture of building I am restoring, with a pronounced list to port. I hope to pull it straight with "come-alongs" and brace it back to plumb, or as near to plumb as I can get a 150 year old building.

If I were in the same situ I would hop on my Honda VTX1800 Black Beauty and go for a long ride. Kind of wet and cold here in the NW.

As for the building......have fun. Been there and done that too many times, won't no more. Is it been in the family all this time? if so, then go for it and post some photos!!!

WELL, don't worry about that gunshow because I'll be there to take up your slack. And I promise if I find any rare or valuable "Smiths" I'll post some pics of it here on the forum. Now, just finish your project while the weathers good and don't even think about what you might be missing...

It's a catch 22,you are going to burn up some ammo at home but you need to go to the show to get more ammo so that you can burn up more ammo so that....

Nah. He can go to the NAPA store and get nails for the building, ammo for shooting, and a fuel filter for the tractor.

I'm shooting mostly .38 special and .45 Colt and I still have primers, powder, and bullets I bought up starting back in the 1st Clinton administration. I am having trouble keeping my .22 stocks above 10K though. Last gun show ammo I bought was a case of 7.62x39 for $75.

I will check by the NAPA just to see what they might have taken in trade the last day or three. My friend who works there told me yesterday that recent political developments have set the frenzy back into full swing again, by the way.

I believe I am in a .45 Caliber frame of mind today. I have a short-barrelled Vaquero I bought just after Christmas, and need to see how it prints my .45 Colt loads. Also have a Winchester 94 Trapper in .45 Colt that hasn't had much exercise lately.

I have a feeling the building might not get restored today.
