Congratulations. Two of my favorites in one package. Nickel finish, and 4" N frame. I'd be chomping at the bit to take it to the range.

A gun is not a toy.
That said, I like your new model 57. Shoot it in good health.

I love 57's. They are great guns, but they require handloading to be able to realy appreciate what they can do.
I don't want to rain on your parade, but I belive that your gun has been refinished at some point based on that one picture of the right side. The side plate fit is indicative of an aftermarket re-finish. Are there any markings on the left side of the grip frame to indicate a trip back to the factory?
Also, does it have an N on the rear face of the cylinder, or on the grip frame under the grips? It's possible that it started life as a blued gun, but was nickeled at some point in its past.

What's crazy is, I really have no use for these lg frame Smiths but I can't stay away from them. Thanks for all the comments.

I quit making excuses for buying guns a loooonngg time ago.
One of mine was, "I can use this for..............".
Now I need them sorely for my desire to own them.
