When did 19s
start to get patridge sights as an option? Was it pre 19, or at what dash number and what year?
Thanks, Pete

I presume you could special order one with any barrel length, but I think the 19-2 6" came standard with the Patridge front sight starting in 1963.

The only Model 19's I have seen with Patridge front sites have been 6" barrel length models.
I have seen them both ways in 6" barrel lengths but never any shorter.
Maybe it was an option but probably only on the longer barrels..

Alan and E49g are correct.
The Patridge front sight was standard on a 6" Model 19 since it was offered in 1963.
And then around 1980, it was offered with a Patridge front sight and plain rear sight blade or, a Baughman ramp front sight with insert and a white outline rear sight blade.
