Default S&W BG38 aftermarket fiberoptic sight

Looking to see if anybody has experience removing the pin underneath the front sight of the S&W Bodyguard 38, and replacing the all black front sight with a fiberoptic sight?

I looked online for Fiberoptic sights and all I can find is generic J Frame sights. I am just looking for something other then the basic black front sight. When the backdrop of your target is black it is nearly impossible to see the sight.

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Below is the pin I am talking about.

I am looking and it doesn't specifically say "for Bodyguard 38" so my question is do I purchase one made for the S&W 630 series and have it put on my BG38?

From what I've read about those things, the front sight and it's attendant retaining pin serve to lock the stainless barrel in place; to locate it axially (setting the cylinder gap) and to keep it from turning within the alloy upper frame. As such, I would doubt that it's anywhere near compatable with a regular J-frame front sight. Best thing would be to call somebody at S&W service and inquire what (if any) alternate sights are available for the BG38.

Frankly, the more that I've seen of this new model, the less I like it. How do you like yours, Cpt.Kirk? -S2

I love the gun. But the more I shoot it in different lighting the more I realize that I need something that is fitting for all lighting. I am contemplating taking the laser off because I just don't want to become reliant on it. Other then that I love it as a range gun and as a concealed carry gun.

Just did my qualification for my conceal carry and noticed the same thing that against the black target and black sights, it's nearly impossible to get an accurate shot. First thing I thought about was replacing the front sight, which so far looks hard to find.
