Default Smith 1896 HE 1st Model .32 Target Model

I got the letter. It is the Target Model shipped to A Midelburg. I can't find out much about this person except there is a Midelburg Island in WV that used to be Hatfield Island from the Hatfield McCoy feud. The Midelburg name, with that spelling, is fairly rare with few living relatives. I have no idea what the gun is worth or how many were made in that configuration.

Ah, if the ole girl could but speak. I am sure she could tell some tales. From what little I know, the records were handwritten and since there is no detination given, that makes it pretty darn hard to pin down. Try different spellings and try to narrow it down. What with the volume of info the internet can provide, it shouldn't take you more than a couple of life times. I like old guns and even though it appears heavily used, it still has character.
Thanks for posting.

Nice 1896, I like that long barrel variation and the letter is great to have with it. Good luck in your info quest.
