Default S&W 10-5 2" Barrel Nickel

Hi Guys,
Just picked up my new toy.
Model 10-5 w/2" barrel in nickel.Pinned. Dated 1975. Love these old pinned guns especially in Nickel! It is in near perfect condition at the Ft. Lauderdale Gun Show last weekend. My question is that I took it to the range about 15 yards away & can't hit the broad side of the barn with it yet? Any hints? The trigger is very light when hammer is pulled back? Shoots low & to the left?

Could be you, could be the gun. Have someone else shoot it to see if it's shooting OK.

Are you a relatively new shooter? Assuming you're right handed shooting low and to the left generally means you are jerking the revolver down and to your left as you pull the trigger (anticipating the recoil?). A good way to tell is to have someone load the revolver for you leaving a chamber empty or with a dummy shell in it. When you pull the trigger on that empty chamber you will probably notice the "jerk". It will be slight but it doesn't take much to throw the bullet off. I am much more prone to do it with a semi than with a revolver.

Hope this helps.

Thanks man! I am sure it IS me. Just got back into it after many years..that was a good suggestion of leaving one chamber empty. I need to practice with it alot..Again, thx for the info. I knew someone would have a good answer for me.
