Default Questions Re: new to me 357 Post War pre Model 27

Just picked up in a private trade, a 6.5 inch barreled post war 357.
Serial # S 158160. It has oversized grips with footballand black washers ..no diamond. no serial number. Are they the correct vintage?
Front sight has red insert and back sight has the white outline. Are they the correct sights?
TIA Charlie

Probably in 1957, just before model numbers appear.

The 6.5" is uncommon. Wish I had one.

Sights could be original as this type became optional in 1952 but no way to know for sure without the $50 letter (and that's not a guarantee).

Negatory on the stocks. The diamond around the screw was correct until mid-1968.
